Alfred McEvoy is an illustrator and comic book artist living in upstate New York. As a young man, McEvoy found himself fascinated by the idea of sequential art as a communicative device and saw potential for expression within the medium. This led him to enroll at the State University of Oswego where he will soon graduate with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Inspired by the sensibilities of 50’s film noir and old school horror comics, McEvoy has borrowed and learned from the aesthetic qualities of each to cultivate his own artistic style. Recently, McEvoy has started to look at his work conceptually and is busy exploring the transition into adulthood and the fears and anxieties that surround it. He works in both digital and traditional mediums and has shown work at group exhibitions in Oswego and Onondaga, NY. He currently lives and works at his studio in La Fargeville, New York, where he has been doing commission work for private individuals and is planning on attending graduate school to continue his artistic journey.
